Navigating the Post-doctoral job market booklet

This booklet was written following the ‘Navigating the Post-Doctoral Job Market’ webinar hosted by GCYFRG in June 2021. The webinar included presentations from: Dr Ruth Cheung Judge (University of Liverpool), Dr Naomi Tyrrell (Research Your Way), Dr Rebecca Collins (University of Chester) and Prof. Sarah Holloway (Loughborough University) and much of their advice is included in this publication. As with the webinar, the booklet is intended to provide some specific guidance to those completing, or who have recently completed, PhDs in geographies of children, youth and families, or a related field and are looking to find new employment. However, we feel the contents may well also be useful to doctoral students in other fields. The booklet is intended to have relevance to those looking both for the spectrum of academic jobs including post-doctoral research, teaching-focused jobs and first lectureships.
